Your feedback - guiding our draft Plan

With the first phase of community engagement for the development of the new Community Strategic Plan over, all feedback has been analysed and is being used (in conjunction with Council and Manager’s feedback) to guide the contents of the draft Plan.

The feedback reveals that the issues of most importance to the community are keeping streets clean and tackling illegal dumping, addressing graffiti, accessible and more efficient public transport, maintaining diversity, greening the area, other environmental issues such as energy efficiency and cleaning up the Cooks River, and maintaining local roads, footpaths and parks.

Work continues on the draft Plan at this time, and the community will have an opportunity to have their say on the draft later in 2010.

Get some background - read our existing Strategic Plan

Council currently has a Strategic Plan that runs until 2011. This Plan was developed after extensive community engagement in 2004 and 2005, and crucial input from Councillors and Council staff. The new Community Strategic Plan will be broader, being a Plan that is owned by the community, and not simply a working document for Council.

We suggest that you have a look at our existing Strategic Plan 2006-11 (found under the Library tab to the right), and gain some understanding of the broad scope of work that Council currently undertakes, as well as some of the specific stratgies and objectives we have been working towards over the past 5 years or so.
